Puppets

Charleville-Mézières, with its World Puppetry Festival, has established credibility to an art form considered for long time as being of lesser importance.
Such an event, which has brought puppet companies from all over the world together in Charleville-Mézières since 1961, has made this ducal town the world capital of puppets. The festival's founder, Jacques Félix, with this great people's party, was thus able to create an indispensable tourist attraction in the county town of the Ardennes.
The town is also unique in France as home to both the International Institute of Puppetry and the High School for Puppetry Arts.
The town is expecting 150,000 spectators for its next Festival in September 2013.
